The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club hosted its 5th annual Rocktoberfest on Saturday afternoon at Holiday Harbor Park. The event included beer tastings, food and vendor merchants, a Cornhole Tournament and a Weiner Dog Race. The Bad Dancers entertained the crowd throughout the afternoon.

The event raised approximately $6,000 for the club’s community philanthropic projects. “It was our best one yet,” said organizer Jenniver Lawrence. “We sold more than 350 taster cups and the beer vendors tapped out of the 70 gallons they brought. Canyon Cowboy sold out as well.”

The winners of the Cornhole Tournament are Mike Nielsen and Nick Lima. Miss Abby won the Weiner Dog Race. Mr. Wiggles came in a close second. Both dogs are owned by Donna Lovejoy and Perry Beggs.

The club invites the community to its next event, the 38th annual Tree Lighting Festival, on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the lodge. Hosted by the Jr. Women’s Club and the POA, the event features Santa, entertainment, rides and food vendors.
