Shakira is a five-year-old pit mix looking for a family to call her own. Her caretakers said she loves treats, people and lounging in the sunshine. Shakira is spayed and ready to be adopted. Her intake number is 481534. Reference picture: Shakira.

Gretzky is a four-year-old cat who was found wandering alone near Storm Stadium. His caretakers said he loves humans and will follow you around for ear and chin rubs and will reward you will plenty of purrs when he gets them. Gretzky is neutered and ready to be adopted. All dog and cat adoption fees include a microchip, basic shelter vaccines (excluding rabies) and a free veterinarian check-up. All cats/kittens, pit bulls and Chihuahua adoptions are just $5 (spay/neuter fees, if applicable, are additional).

For adoption or fostering, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) at 951-674-0618. The shelter is located at 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter offers animals for adoption as well as providing animal control and spay/neuter services.

Low cost vaccinations and $20 microchipping are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AFV’s Low Cost Spay/ Neuter Clinic at 29001 Bastron Ave., Lake Elsinore. Walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, call 951-674-7729 (SPAY) or 951-374-3491.
