The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Toastmasters invites residents to its open house to meet members and hear special guest speaker Mike Irvin of Pac West Financial talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professional.

The open house will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall building at 31516 Railroad Canyon Rd. For more information, contact Mike Irvin at mike@pacwestfinancial.com.

“The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” said Mike.

After hearing from Mike, members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, Table Topics (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.

Club VP of Education David Balch, who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” said Balch. “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”
