Concert showcases hits by Doobie Brothers

Fans of the Doobie Brothers were treated to a re-creation of the 70s rock group on Saturday evening in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Sponsored by the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild, “Listen to the Music” showcased iconic rock classics, such as “China Grove,” “Long Train Running” and many more.

Using the same instruments, costumes and looks as the famous band, the audience was “Rocking Down the Highway” for nearly two hours. The band took the audience back in time with their performances of “What a Fool Believes,” “You Belong to Me” and other top hits by the Dobbie Brothers.

Prior to the concert, Fine Arts Guild sponsors and patrol level members enjoyed a pre-concert reception and were treated to a visit with the band.

The Fine Art Guild’s final concert of 2019 will be a tribute to Neil Diamond on Oct. 19 at the lodge. Tickets are $25 for General Admission and $45 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased at canyonlakeguild.org. General Admission tickets are available for purchase at the POA office. Concerts sponsored by the Fine Arts Guild typically sell out. Early ticket purchase is recommended.
