Mother, grandmother and friend, Ann Margaret Bond passed away of natural causes on Aug. 9, 2019. Ann was born in Wisconsin in 1935 to Everett and Lena Holbert. The family moved to El Monte, California, when she was a young girl. The family-owned and operated Holbert Typewriter in El Monte on Garvey Street for over 50 years.

Ann met her husband Richard Mulcahy her senior year in high school. They married in 1958 and had three children: Michael, Erin and Patrick. The family lived in Hacienda Heights and purchased a lot in Canyon Lake in 1971. Ann and her family spent many weekends here enjoying water skiing, motorcycle riding and camping.

After a divorce, Ann built and designed her “dream home” on Sloop Drive in 1990. She then met and married “the love of her life,” James Bond, in 1994. Ann and James were avid car collectors and were members of the Canyon Lake Car Club and the Canyon Lake Yacht Club. They bought a beautiful waterfront home on Canyon Club Drive three houses down from the lodge. They enjoyed entertaining their many friends and family and graciously opened their home for many events and parties.
Over the years all of her children moved with their families to Canyon Lake, her father moved to Canyon Lake, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and sister-in-law. At one time the family had 26 family members residing in Canyon Lake.

Ann was preceded in death by James in 2015. Her family takes comfort that they are reunited in heaven with the Lord. Ann is survived by her children and their spouses Mike and Kathy Mulcahy, Erin and John Johnson and Pat Mulcahy; grandchildren Crystal Yeager, Danielle Shomsky, Shannon Mulcahy, Erin Mulcahy and Kimberly Contreras-Mulcahy; and great-granddaughter Madison Yeager.
