Thor is a three-year-old Husky mix looking for a “fur”ever home. He is a bit shy at first but he has been warming up to the shelter staff and showing how sweet he can be. His caretakers said he prefers to be the only dog in the home and will make his human the center of his universe. Thor is neutered and ready to be adopted. His intake number is 282426. Macy Girl is a three-year-old orange and white cat who is looking for a family where she can be the queen of their hearts. Her caretakers said she needs to be the only cat in the house. Macy is housed at the Petco in Temecula and ready to have a “fur”ever home to call her own. She is spayed and ready for adoption. Her intake number is 454130. Reference picture: Macy.

All dog and cat adoption fees include a microchip, basic shelter vaccines (excluding rabies) and a free veterinarian check-up. All cats/kittens, pit bulls and Chihuahua adoptions are just $5 (spay/neuter fees, if applicable, are additional).

For adoption or fostering, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) at 951-674-0618. The shelter is located at 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter offers animals for adoption as well as providing animal control and spay/neuter services.

Low cost vaccinations and $20 microchipping are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AFV’s Low Cost Spay/ Neuter Clinic at 29001 Bastron Ave., Lake Elsinore. Walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, call 951-674-7729 (SPAY) or 951-374-3491.
