Use of the lodge swimming pool is for the entire community; however, classes and swimming lessons are offered for a fee through the POA Activities department.

Pool hours differ during seasonal periods. Summer pool hours (May 24 to Sept. 1) are 6 to 10 a.m. for water aerobics and lap swim. Open swim hours are Sundays through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

To use the pool, members must be in “good standing” with the POA, present a valid POA card and sign in.

Members are permitted to bring up to six guests per tract/lot. Guests are defined as any individual who is not listed on the POA account as a resident.

Children five years of age and younger must be under the direct supervision of a responsible person of age at all times. Toddlers and babies are not allowed to wander around the deck or sit on the edge of the pool unless accompanied by an adult.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Kids 14 to 17 years of age may be unaccompanied by an adult and bring one guest to the pool; however, they are required to have their own valid POA card.

Pool passes are available to members requesting them for use of the pool for adult non-members who are responsible for the resident minor children of members of Canyon Lake. This would include, but not be limited to, nannies, babysitters, or any other individual responsible for the member’s minor children. Certain conditions apply. Pool passes are issued at the POA office and a photo ID is required. The passes are only effective for use by the adult non-member when he or she is accompanying and supervising the resident minors at the pool. The passes are available for a time period of two weeks and up to one year.

Proper swimwear must be worn. Garments must be designed as swim-wear; cut-offs are not permitted. All babies, toddlers and incontinent adults must wear proper waterproof swim pants or briefs in the pool. The swim pants or briefs cannot disintegrate in the pool and must have waterproof containment to ensure leak-proof protection. The pool sells toddler swim diapers for $2.50 per diaper.

Any individual using water wings or any other type of flotation device must be accompanied by an adult who is an experienced swimmer.

Flotation devices, balls, boards, etc., are not permitted on crowded days. Horseplay, such as shoulder games, launching persons, etc., is not allowed.

Animals are not allowed at the pool; service animals are an exception.

Smoking, alcohol and glass containers are not permitted.

There is no lifeguard on duty. Members and guests use the pool at their own discretion. Pool visitors are required to notify pool attendants immediately in the event of any incident, accident, or emergency.

The pool facilities include outdoor showers, dressing areas, restrooms, shade areas and a handicap lift.

For additional information about the pool or classes, visit the POA website at canyonlakepoa.com or inquire at the pool office.
