Jr. Tennis Program starts on Monday

Kids ages four through 16 are invited to learn the “fun”damentals of tennis in a week-long Jr. Tennis Program taught by Pro Pete Walrod. The program is for kids who want to learn the game of tennis or improve their tennis skills.

The program runs from June 17 through June 21 at the Canyon Lake Tennis Center. The Pee Wee class, for kids ages four to six, meets from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and covers ball control skills, catching, throwing and basic stroke skills.

The Junior Strokes class, for kids ages seven through 16, meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and covers ball control skills, basic stroke skills, gameplay, strategy, light running and agility drills.

Canyon Lake residency is not a requirement to participate. Registration is $50 for ages four to six and $125 for ages seven through 16. To register, contact Pete Walrod at 818-397-3806.
