Don’t miss these community concerts in June

Three concerts will be held in Canyon Lake in June. First up is the POA’s free concert on Saturday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the new amphitheater at Holiday Harbor Park. This concert features the energetic Top 40s cover band Siren’s Crush and Canyon Lake resident Makayla Phillips who appeared on the America’s Got Talent television show.

The Motels will make their debut in Canyon Lake on Saturday, June 22, in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. The concert is the third of four concerts in the POA’s 2019 “Concert at the Lodge” series. General Admission tickets cost $29. VIP tickets cost $54. Tickets can be purchased at the POA office and online at canyonlakepoa.com.

The Motels are best known for their singles “Only the Lonely” and “Suddenly Last Summer,” each of which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. Kenny Marquez will be opening the show. Kenny has performed at more than 500 venues in Southern California and boasts a vast musical career, including lead guitarist of the 80s/90s rock band Renegade.

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild is also sponsoring a free concert at the amphitheater in June. “Margaritaville by the Lake” will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 8 p.m. and feature the Jimmy Buffett tribute band Stars on the Water. This San Diego-based band will spend the evening playing TropRock (tropical rock and roll), fun music by Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, Eagles and more.

Canyon Lakers are urged to arrive early at these events as seating is likely to fill up fast. Attendees may bring low beach chairs, beach towels, snacks and coolers. The parking lot will be used for golf cart and boat trailer parking only.
