The Canyon Lake Kids Club kicked off March with a field trip to Sea World on Mar. 5. The class celebrated Mardi Gras on Mar. 7 with a reading of “The Beignet That Almost Got Away.” The kids learned about New Orleans, ate beignets and made Mardi Gras masks.

The club celebrated St. Patrick’s Day the week of Mar. 12 with a leprechaun trap craft and a reading of “The Gingerbread Man and the Leprechaun.”

The week of Mar. 19, the kids learned about spring and butterflies with readings of “Muse Loves Spring” and “Hooray for Spring.” Crafts included paper butterflies and paintings of poppies.

This month, the Kids Club will celebrate Earth Day, Arbor Day, April Fool’s Day, National Unicorn Day and Easter. Activities include a dinosaur dig, a bear hunt, crafts and stories.

The Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Those who purchase a 10-class punch card receive two classes free. Punch cards can be purchased in class.

The program is led by Sarah Card, Christie Hall and Rocio Triolo. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. For more information, visit the club’s Facebook page or email canyonlakekidsclub@gmail.com.
