Pei Pei Gunter traveled to Taiwan to visit family. While there, she attended the Taichung International Flower Expo, which spans 60.88 hectares and consists of four theme parks, and the 75th anniversary celebration of the Dongtian Ziwei Temple, located in Chiayi City. Pei Pei’s mother founded the temple and her sister carried on as the master when their mother passed away in 1985.

Her six-week vacation included traveling to China where she met up with a group of lifelong friends to tour several sites, including remote caves in Nanning, the capital and largest city by population of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China.

Her stay in China also included enjoying daily eight-course meals at some of her favorite restaurants. Another highlight was visiting the Detian Waterfall in Guangxi. The waterfall was said to be Asia’s largest transnational waterfall because it was shared by both China and Vietnam.

While visiting Guangxi, Pei Pei met many residents who are over the age of 100. “The mayor is 107 years old,” said Pei Pei. “They shared with me the key to living a long life.”

Pei Pei travels to Taiwan every year and is looking forward to her next visit.
