‘Love Rocks’ at Valentine’s Golf Tournament

Fifty-six ladies participated in the Women’s Golf Club “Love Rocks” Valentine’s Tournament on Feb. 12. Golf professional Pat Kemball hit the drive on hole 12, which allowed many to bird the hole.

The winners are as follows:

Dixie Chicks

First place Gross: Marilyn Bridges, Mary Burns, Gerry Meeks and Judy Thompson.

First place Net: Valerie Montgomery, Jill Busser, Merilyn Murphy and Dianne Schneider.

Spice Girls

First place Gross: Marlene Cathro, Donna Nunes, Barbara Spraul and Maxine Whalen.

First place Net: Sue Sell, Norma Yarbrough, Linda Kielty and Sandy Dawson.

Second place Net: KK Beecher, Linda Kamashian, Anne Norris and Linda Johnson.

Go-Go’s

First place Gross: Rita Crocker, Sheryl Fine, Kim Robinson, and Barbie Spencer.

First place Net: Nancy Tice, Joanne Belllerive, Kathy Sanchez and Teresa Roberson.

Second place Net: Gail McCall, Joanna Spiller, Rita Wacker and Barbara Weatherman.

The Women’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club between 7 and 7:30 a.m. to tee off at 8 a.m. for 18 holes of golf. The club’s mission is promoted through camaraderie, social events, recognition and tournaments throughout the year.
