The Canyon Lake Chamber invites the community to participate in its annual Golf Tournament and Ball Drop on Saturday, Mar. 16. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Canyon Lake Jr. Golf program.

The entry fee is $100 per player. Canyon Lake annual golf course members pay only $65.

Registration includes round of golf, golf cart fee and dinner. Those who wish to attend dinner only may do so for a cost of $25. Signups are taken at the Golf Pro Shop at the country club, chamber office and Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center.

Registration starts at 10 a.m.; Shotgun start at 12 p.m. This year’s tournament has three flights: Open, Senior (60 years of age and older) and Jack and Jill (two women and two men). Tee, contest and opportunity sponsorships are available.

The tournament will be followed by the Ball Drop, dinner, awards, opportunity drawing and live auction.

Ball Drop participants do not have to enter the golf tournament to participate and winners need not be present to win.

How does the Ball Drop work? Golf ball numbers can be purchased for $10 each, three for $20 or 10 for $50. The purchaser provides their contact information and receives one number per ball; not the actual golf ball.

Using a mechanical lift, the hopper filled with the numbered golf balls are lifted and dropped all at once over a hole on the practice range.

The purchaser of the numbered ball that lands in the bottom of the hole will receive half the money collected from the Ball Drop sales, up to $5,000.

Golf ball numbers are available now at the Golf Pro Shop at the country club, chamber office and Pack, Wrap and Post. A limited number of balls are available.
