Missing Persons kicks off POA concert series

The 2019 Concerts at the Lodge series presented by the Canyon Lake POA started off with a bang, with LA’s iconic 80s new wave band Missing Persons.

Canyon Lake’s own Makayla Phillips was the opening act. She looked stunning in her black sequined dress and the 16-year-old has the stage presence of someone well beyond her age. The highlights of Makayla’s set included several duets with Kodi Lee. The 22-year-old Kodi has autism and is blind. Despite his disabilities, Kodi is an extraordinary singer and musician. He is truly an inspiration to all. To learn more about this amazing young man, visit his website at kodileerocks.com.

Missing Persons took the stage around 9 p.m. and wasted no time getting the eager crowd on their feet, as they opened the night with “Mental Hopscotch.” From that point on, lead singer Dale Bozzio kept the crowd on edge and dancing in the aisles as the band sang hit after hit. As the set progressed on, there were still a few songs everyone was waiting to hear. Dale and the band did not disappoint and wrapped up the concert with “Destination Unknown” and “Walking in L.A.”

Dale was gracious enough to finish off the night with a meet and greet. She signed autographs and took pictures with everyone who wanted them.
