Youngsters treated to Santa and pancakes

More than 250 residents started their day the merry way with Breakfast with Santa on Saturday at the north ski pavilion. The Ski Club, with the help of “Pancake” Bob Burns, served up Mickey Mouse themed pancakes for the children, who topped them with whipped cream and an assortment of sprinkles.

Each child had an opportunity to sit with Santa, have their photo taken with him and tell him what was on their Christmas wish list.  For the 30th consecutive year, Al Van Beene filled in for the real Santa.

Santa Al typically arrives by ski boat to this event but due to the debris in the lake from the recent storm, that plan had to be aborted. Instead, Canyon Lake Fire Station 60 escorted Santa to the event.
