The Cardboard Boat Challenge will take place at the Mermaid Festival on June 23 at Indian Beach. The first place adult will receive $100. First place youth will be awarded $75. The Judges Choice and Best Dressed Vessel winners will receive $50 each.
Signups are taken at the POA office. Registration is free for those who sign up by June 15. Registration is $10 for those who sign up after June 15.
Boats must be constructed of cardboard. No other material besides cardboard and duct tape may be used. A complete set of rules can be found at the POA office.
All vessels must be checked in between 9 and 10 a.m. at Indian Beach. A short pre-race meeting will take place at the judging tent at 11 a.m. The race will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m.
