Memorial Day weekend camp lottery ends today

The construction at Happy Camp is scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day weekend, one of the camp’s busiest weekends of the year. The POA is anticipating it to be busier as it debuts its new modernization layout. As such, the POA will be holding a member lottery to award sites.

The last day to pick up a lottery ticket is today, May 18, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the campground office. To sign up, members must present their POA card and be in good standing with the POA. Only one lottery entry per tract-lot is allowed.

The lottery will be held at the campground tomorrow, May 19. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. The lottery will immediately follow.

Members must be present to win. Upon winning a reservation, members must pay a $30 nonrefundable deposit. There is a  there is a three-day minimum stay that must include the Memorial Day holiday on May 28. Reservations are not site specific.

The first day the campground will reopen is Friday, May 25.

Happy Camp holiday rates are $57 for water-front sites with full hookups, $52 for off-water sites with full hookups and $47 for off-water sites with electric and water only. For more information, contact the Happy Camp staff at 951-244-6841, ext. 650.
