Holly Swift and nine-year-old son Tony caught this 2.5-pound bass last week at Moonstone Beach on the north side of the lake. They used nightcrawlers for bait.

“We caught it on our first cast,” said Holly. “We got a bite in about 10 seconds.”

Holly, a 21 year resident of Canyon Lake, fishes with her children about three times a week during the summer months. “The kids are really excited for fishing season,” she said.
