The Canyon Lake Lions Club invites residents to participate in its 28th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, Mar. 29 at the Canyon Lake golf course. This annual event has earned more than $230,000 over the past 27 years for Lion charities such as Guide Dogs of the Desert, Canine Companions, Friends in Sight, City of Hope, Loma Linda Eye Center, Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House and many organizations around Canyon Lake.

The entry fee is $60 and includes banquet and awards. Green fee is $29; cart fee is $15. To register, contact Phil Coughlin at 951-805-0223 or Golf Pro Pat Kemball at 951-246-1782, co-chairs for the event. Entry forms are available in the Golf Pro Shop. The entry deadline is Mar. 23.

Two different games are available. The Four Person Scramble is open to all players with or without a handicap. Players may pick their own foursome or opt to be placed with a foursome. The alternate game, a Pro-Am event, is open to all players with a handicap. Three amateurs will be paired with a pro for a team in a Two Best Ball format.

For a $5 donation, anyone landing in the circle in one shot on hole 15 will receive $50 for landing in the smaller circle or $25 for landing in the larger circle. There will be a Putting Contest for $2 and a Longest Drive Contest between two lines on hole 14 for both men and women. Closest to the Pin awards will be given on hole 8 to women in two shots, hole 17 to men in one shot and hole 11 to pro in one shot. Canyon Golf Carts & Motorsports is sponsoring a Hole-in-One prize for hole 11.

Sponsorships are being sought for tee signs, green signs, Longest Drive Contest and Putting Contest. For sponsorship information, contact Lion Phil Coughlin at 951-805-0223.
