Two of five POA Board seats up for election

Two of the five POA Board of Directors seats are up for election. The two-year terms of Dale Welty and Paul Queen expire in May.

The five-member Board of Directors are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. The Board of Directors are elected for staggered two-year terms.

The Board of Directors works closely with the Association’s Corporate Department to ensure that Association duties and responsibilities are being carried out.

Members interested in running for the 2018/20 Board of Directors can pick up an Intent to Run packet at the POA office now. Intent to run packets must be completed and returned to the POA office no later than Friday, Mar. 2, at 3 p.m.

The form must be completed by candidates or by a nominating member and received by the Nominating Committee by the deadline in order to ensure the candidate’s name appears on the ballot. Regardless of whether a candidacy form was completed, any candidate may still be nominated by himself, herself, or by someone else from the floor of the Annual Meeting.

All candidates must be a Prime or Associate member of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association and in good standing, as required by the By-Laws. Candidates must not have been convicted of a crime that involves moral turpitude within the past 10 years.

For questions about the election, contact Clerk of the Board Harmony Owen at howen@canyonlakepoa.com.
