Dani Martin, a certified yoga instructor and 17-year resident of Canyon Lake, invites residents to connect body and mind with Yoga by the Lake at Sunset Beach on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Dani said, “You don’t have to be flexible to do yoga. Everyone told you should do it, so now is the time to step on the sand and do it. If you can get down on your hands and knees you can do yoga class.”

Residents can take their first Yoga by the Lake class free of charge. Addition classes are $35 for five classes; $60 for 10 classes. Punch cards can be purchased at the POA office. Dani is honoring punch cards for the Yoga P.M. class that Jackie Mann use to teach. Classes take place on the sand; participants should bring a mat, towel or sheet.

In addition to teaching yoga for 20 years, Dani has a background in temperament personality assessment, business consulting and life coaching. The fundamentals of awareness, acceptance and action are incorporated into her teachings.

In addition to her yoga teachings, Dani is the co-fonder of the Insights Foundation, a non-profit, non-denominational support organization working to establish positive perspective and personal empowerment through awareness, acceptance and action.

Dani is also affiliated with TIP, a trauma intervention program that provides counseling to those who experienced a death in the family and emotional trauma. In her spare time, Dani enjoys hydrofoiling. She also serves as announcer for the ShowCal Skiers and often drives the boat for the legendary Mike Murphy.
