Canyon Lake Bible Club has new vision, location

The Canyon Lake Bible Club has a new vision, new location and new meeting night. The club now meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Activity Building at East Port Park.

The club opens each meeting with prayer followed by praise and worship music provided by gifted musicians and singers.

In May, the club had vocalist and guitarist Lauren Lake Petrich, who was raised here in Canyon Lake, lead and sing some heart-warming contemporary praise and worship. Lauren also attends and helps lead worship frequently at Lamb’s Fellowship in Lake Elsinore. That same evening, the club message was presented by local photographer and Bible Club Secretary, Vince Bautista. Vince’s message circled around the different “Names of Jesus.” Vince had outlined several bible verses and had different members look up and read aloud. “It was a wonderful time,” said Club Chairman Steve Martin.

Steve spoke on “Who Did Jesus Say He Was?” in June. His wife, Co-Chair Ruth Martin, an ordained chaplain and life-long classically trained pianist, provided the music and played hymns.

At the end of every meeting a member shares their personal testimony. “It’s an excellent way to end a great get together,” said Steve.

The club’s next meeting will be held on July 11 and will feature music by local resident Kylene Evans. Thirteen-year-old Kylene is known for performing on the harp at local events such as Canyon Lake’s National Day of Prayer and Veterans Day, as well as other church and local events.

Kylene, along with her parents Larry and Michelle and sister Kaitlyn, attend Canyon Lake Community Church where Larry is very involved in the church’s Celebrate Recovery Program. Larry will be sharing his testimony that same evening.

Steve said, “Canyon Lake Bible Club encourages all Canyon Lakers to attend the July meeting. It will be a great evening so don’t forget to bring your friends and your bible.” For more information about the Bible Club, contact Steve Martin at 951-244-2438.
