Letter: Apology

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I wish to thank the Canyon Lake Veterans Committee for allowing me to give the invocation at the 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony. In my desire to give our vets a special and much deserved honor through having them remain seated while the rest of us stood to give them a standing ovation for their service, I unintentionally violated a valuable tradition of having veterans stand to be honored. One veteran told me they were offended by my actions and asked me to make it right. I apologized to them at that very moment, which they graciously accepted. I couldn’t make it right that day, but I am trying to do so now. For those who were hurt by my actions, please forgive me. I honor and believe in our veterans too much to have hurt anyone. So please, accept my humble apology.
