Dana Coolbaugh is crowned Mermaid Queen

Dana Coolbaugh, 43, was crowned Mermaid Queen and will represent the Woman’s Club at events this coming year. Dana is a mother of three children who are 21, 14 and 12. She grew up in Seal Beach where her backyard was sand, and as a child she really did believe she was a mermaid.

Dana served as Mrs. Canyon Lake in 2012. While wearing her crown, she enjoyed helping out the clubs with various events and supporting new businesses with ribbon-cutting ceremonies. In 2013, she served as vice-president of the Family Matters Club. Currently, she owns her own housecleaning business here in the community and also cares for an elderly woman.

One of the qualifications to be Mermaid Queen is to be proficient in the water. As a child, Dana was part of the Jr. Lifeguard Program of Seal Beach. She also was a part of the Seal Beach swim team.

Dana hopes that she can be just as helpful to the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club and serve as a role model to younger mermaids who live in the Lake.
