Tomorrow is last day for Summer Reading awards

The Canyon Lake Library entered the last week of the Summer Reading Program with 382 participants. The program has the last and biggest event left. Tomorrow, July 30, at 11 a.m., the final drawings for the extra-reading raffle will take place. Participants need not be present to win. The big prizes were all donated from the community.

For the age 0-3 category a VTech Touch and Teach Elephant was donated by Toad Studios of Lake Elsinore. For the ages 3 to 13 category, there is a package of tickets for Rock Fitness Gym in Murrieta donated by Rock Fitness Gym. For the teen category, there is a matching package for Rock Fitness Gym in Murrieta and a second prize of a private experience for up to eight from Funhouse Escape in Menifee, donated by Funhouse Escape.

The winner of the adult category can receive a $50 gift certificate from Southpaw Ceramics in Canyon Lake or a private experience for up to eight from Funhouse Escape. Other prizes include a manicure plus mini manicure from CL Nails in Canyon Lake and one one-day pass to Rock Fitness Gym.

Toddler Story time will return at its regular time of 11 a.m. on  Monday, August 1. The story time is developed for ages 0 to 3 and includes stories and activities.

The Canyon Lake Knitters will meet Wednesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. Crochet enthusiasts also are encouraged to come, since the group is branching to include crochet. This program meets weekly for one hour. Children are welcome to come and learn if they are of the age and temperament to keep focused on their craft for the hour.

The Canyon Lake Library is located inside the City Hall building. It’s open Mondays, 10 to 7, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 to 6, and Saturdays 10 to 3. It’s closed Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. For more information, call 951-244-9181.
