In Memoriam: Constance Beal

Constance “Connie” Beal passed away at her home in Canyon Lake on June 19, 2016.

A60-PIC-obit-Connie-BealShe was born in Longmont, Colorado September 9, 1939. She and Ray Beal met on a blind date in Seattle in 1957 and were wed May 16, 1959. Connie was a bookkeeper by profession but had the fortune of being a stay-at-home mother until her three children graduated from college. Among other interests, she loved hiking, backpacking and fishing.

Connie and Ray moved to Canyon Lake from San Francisco in 2001, where they became charter members of the Senior Chair Volleyball Club. Connie also was involved with Canyon Lake groups that played Hand and Foot Canasta, Mexican Train Dominos and Sunday Bingo.  She also enjoyed walking with the Friends Out of Water (FOOW) group and traveling to Laughlin on the annual CLAMS trip.

In addition to Ray, her husband of 57 years, Connie is survived by sons Steven and Raymond (Sondra) of Murrieta; daughter Elizabeth Stariha (Don) of Seattle; eight grandchildren: Nicolé, Alexandria, Morgan, Ryan Elizabeth, Gabriel, Joshua, Brayden and Logan; brother Bill Schwab (Judy) of Norco; and four nieces and two nephews and their families.

A celebration of life will be held tomorrow, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church.
