‘Find the Cure’ Golf Tournament

The Women’s Golf Club will be holding its annual “Find the Cure” breast cancer tournament on July 26, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The format is Goofy Golf with a 4-person scramble.

There will be a ladies’ flight, couple’s flight,  men’s flight and a non-handicap flight. All golfers in Canyon Lake are welcome. The proceeds will benefit Michelle’s Place, a local breast cancer resource center that has helped many Canyon Lake ladies diagnosed with breast cancer.

Prizes will be awarded for each division, along with a prize for the best decorated golf cart. Lunch will follow  at the Country Club. The fee to enter is $35, which includes  lunch. 9ers Golf Club

Ladies are invited to play with the 9ers Golf Club; all levels of golfers are welcome. The club meets each Thursday, at 8 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. They tee off at 8:30. Ladies who would like to play with the club are invited to contact Linda Kielty at 951-746-2250.

Family Golf Club

Membership in the Family Golf Club is open to all golfers – men, women and youths are welcome. The club’s official golf day is Wednesday, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30.

The tournament director works closely with Golf Pro Pat Kemball and his staff to assure that tournaments are balanced. Organizers say all members enjoy a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. For membership information/application, contact Kevin O’Leary at 951-818-3361. After Lunch Bunch

The After Lunch Bunch is a weekly Friday game for any male golfer with a handicap. Tee-off is at 8 a.m. Sign up between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.
