All ages welcome to join Triathlon Club

The Canyon Lake Triathlon Club held a Super Sprint Reverse Triathlon in Canyon Lake on Sunday, April 24, with the transition area opening at the Lodge at 6:15 a.m. The event started at 7 with a 1.5-mile run, followed by a 6-mile bike ride to the East Gate and back. Participants then rinsed off and completed three laps (six lengths) in the pool.

On May 22, the club will participate in the Tri Rock San Diego. In June, members will be back in Canyon Lake for the Sprint and Olympic Triathlon, organized by Lainie Coonie and Sherri Chloe. The transition area for this event will be at the North Ski Area on June 28. The approximate distances for this triathlon will be a .25-mile swim, 6-mile ride and 1.5-mile run. Participants can choose from mountain bike or road bike courses.

On July 20, the club will hold the evening Super Sprint Triathlon, Kids Triathlon and Barbecue at Indian Beach, organized by Tim Janes.

Saturday, August 6, will be the community-wide Paddle & Pedal Regatta in the East Bay, organized by Greg and Karin Cassidy
