After Lunch Bunch

New Year’s Day golfers enjoyed outstanding SoCal weather for last week’s After Lunch Bunch game. The game was Partners Best Ball;players picked their own foursomes with the following results:

A Flight – 1st: Ulf Sandegren and Ulf Grefelt, 59; 2nd: Bill Hallahan and Hal Stiffler, 59

B Flight – 1st: Jeff Roach and Hub Watson, 58; 2nd: Roger Kielty and Dave Smedstad, 62

Skins winners were Ulf Sandegren, Ed Doidge and Roger Kielty.

Next Friday, ALB will be playing Two Best Balls of the Foursome and counting three balls on Par 3.

The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

Women’s Golf

The theme for the annual Canyon Lake Women’s Valentine Golf Tournament on February 9 will be “My Funny Valentine.” This will be a four-person scramble, with both gross and net payouts, open to all Women’s Club members at a cost of $35. The deadline to sign up in the Golf Pro Shop is January 31. For more information, contact Linda Johnson or Linda Kamashian.

The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf.

LWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Applications are available in the Pro Shop. For more information, contact Sue Sell at 951-443-5940.

Men’s Golf

The Men’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and holds regular open meetings the first Wednesday of each month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.

Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.  Members play Wednesday afternoons. Applications for the Family Golf Club are available at clfamilygolf.com or contact Mary Leathley at 951-244-0114.

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group meets in the Magnolia Room at 9:30 a.m. each Thursday before heading out to play nine holes of golf.
