Summer kids’ camp programs are still open

Kids invited to Furry Friends Kids’ Camp

Animal Friends of the Valleys is currently holding its Furry Friends Kids’ Camps to help children ages 5 to 11 learn about pet care and responsibility, as well as how to be safe around pets.

Each session of Furry Friends Kids’ Camp will be Monday through Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. each day and ending at 1 p.m. in the classroom at Animal Friends of the Valleys, 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar.

Each camper will receive a T-shirt, and participate in animal-related crafts and activities on each day of the five-day session. Parents are asked to pack a daily snack and drink for their camper. All campers must wear closed-toe shoes. Here are the remaining sessions:

Session 6, July 13 to 17, ages 8 to 11

Session 7, July 20 to 24, ages 5 to 7

Session 8, July 27 to 31, ages 8 to 11

If registering on the first day of camp, please arrive at 9:30 a.m. The fee of $60 per camper Includes a T-shirt and crafts.

YMCA offers programs in Canyon Lake

The YMCA of Riverside County is offering several YMCA programs to Canyon Lake residents, starting with Summer Day Camp and Date Night. Signups are accepted online at www.ymcarc.org/resident-camp.

Summer Day Camp at the YMCA is a week-long action-packed adventure filled with sports and outdoor activities. Morning and afternoon sessions are available daily for Canyon Lake residents. The cost is $105 per child, per session, per week. The cost for both morning and afternoon session is $175 per week. A minimum of 20 must be enrolled in order for the camp to be held. The next camp is scheduled to begin July 20.

Date Night at the Y give parents an opportunity to drop off their children, ages 6 to 12, for an evening of fun activities while they enjoy a night out. Date Night celebrate different themes each month like “Rock Stars and Divas,” “Dr. Seuss,” “Lego Parties” and more! Children will get to enjoy fun themes along with crafts and games. Dinner and a movie also will be provided. Upcoming Date Nights are scheduled for August 8 and 28. The cost is $25 per child per night.
