Spotlight on Seniors: Chloe Cargnelutti

A20 PIC 1 Senior Chloe Cargnelutti 1Scholar-athlete Chloe Cargnelutti has been home schooled from kindergarten through 12th grade and is graduating from Calvary Chapel Murrieta High School with a 4.0 GPA. She is the daughter of Hugo and Stacey Cargnelutti and sibling to Cami, 17, and Marco, 13. She has lived in Canyon Lake for 13 years.

Chloe played soccer as a starter for Calvary Murrieta all four years of high school. She was team captain from 2011 to 2015, Team MVP her junior and senior years, and League MVP her senior year. She made 3rd Team All CIF for the 2014-15 season.

She played for the Linfield Soccer Tournament All-Tourney Team in 2012-13, and was team captain of her club team, Murrieta Surf Soccer Club, for three years. Prior to that she was captain of her Temecula United club team.

Special awards she received from her school include the “Life in the Spirit” Award for her junior and senior year. Chloe says, “This award is for one who lives in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, is positive and uplifting, and encourages others on and off the field.”

She also was recognized with “Practicing Actions Christ Taught” during her sophomore and junior years. She received the Coaches Award her sophomore year.

A20 PIC 2 Senior Chloe Cargnelutti 2When she isn’t busy with soccer and academics, Chloe serves in the children’s department, media department and cafe at West Coast Life Church in Murrieta. She has helped with Vacation Bible School and with soccer camps for children. She also has participated in outreaches for the homeless. Chloe says one of her favorite memories was the “Kick for Nick” event where she was able share her love of soccer with autistic kids.

Chloe already has been accepted to play for Oral Roberts University’s Division 1 women’s soccer team. “A dream come true – I am officially a Golden Eagle!” she says. She received the Dean’s Scholarship for academic achievement at ORU and currently is in the running for the university’s $20,000 Whole Person Scholarship.

Chloe says, “I have learned to never give up on a dream. All things are possible to the one who believes!”
