Twenty-four players participated in the Pickleball Club’s first Round Robin Tournament on the new pickleball courts on Jan. 20. The event was open to all Canyon Lake residents. Participants were treated to a barbecue. Donations were collected for Animal Friends of the Valleys.
Terry Loy who served as tournament director, Ellie Clow and Nancy Duplin handled registration, Kelly Ann Ford-Harris provided the photography and Kimberly Keigwin, Gene Taylor and Nancy Hoke served as cooks.
Tournament results are as follows:
A Division
1st place: Allen Stone; 2nd place: Brian Wood.
B Division
1st place: Susie Cook; 2nd place: Margaret Little.
Runner-up:
Nancy Hoke and Mary Koster.
POA gift cards were presented to the winners.
The Pickleball Club welcomes beginners and regular players for social play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Women’s social play begins Feb. 6. All Canyon Lake adult women are invited to play. Women’s social play provides the opportunity for Canyon Lake women to socialize and play pickleball with other women. All skill levels are welcome.
