at lodge on Saturday
SEPTEMBER 8, 2017
Ty Herndon, Grammy nominated and Dove award-winning contemporary country music artist, is set to perform in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge to- morrow evening.
Tickets are $25 for general admis- sion; $50 for reserved VIP seats. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets available through the POA website and at Member Ser- vices at the POA office. If the show does not sell out by Saturday, tickets will be available at the door.
Ty has a career spanning two decades. He’s charted 17 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Song chart with five mil- lion albums sold. His 20-year music ca- reer resulted in four number one smash hits: “What Mattered Most,” “Living in the Moment,” "It Must Be Love” and “Loved Too Much.”
In 2010, Ty received a Grammy award nomination in the Best South- ern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Al- bum category for “Journey On.” He also received a Dove award that same year for Best Bluegrass Recorded Song for “When We Fly.”
In 2016, Ty released his latest album, “House of Fire.” The album is a collec- tion of 12 songs that shows a deeper, greater strength from a man who has been there and back and lived to tell about it. The album received critical ac- colades from the Nashville music com- munity as well as USA Today, Rolling Stone Country and Huffington Post.
Doug Schultz, Canyon Lake resi- dent, producer of Concerts at the Lodge and current concert manager for KSON Country 97.3 FM San Diego, first met
Ty Herndon in the late 90s when Ty performed at 4th & B, a concert hall in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego that Doug managed. He said, “Ty was an up and coming art- ist at the time who had a few hits plus a number one single, “What Mattered Most,” and the audience loved him. For years we played Ty Herndon on air, he was one of the most requested artists.” The Ty Herndon Concert will be an up front and personal acoustic performance. Doug explains, “It means the show will use instruments to produce sound through acoustic means as opposed to electric guitars or other instruments, and it gives the Canyon Lake audience that VIP private party feel.”
Lance Allen, who opened the Darryl Worley Concert at the lodge in Octo- ber 2016, is returning to Canyon Lake to open for Ty Herndon. The local art- ist started his career at the young age as a singer songwriter in contemporary Christian music. His first album pro- duced three radio hits. His song “He’s There” landed at number three where it remained in the top 10 for 16 weeks.
Lance is the current West Coast Coun- try Music Association’s Country Male Entertainer and Vocalist of the Year. He was recently named Most Promising Male Vocalist, Entertainer and Song- writer at the North American Country Music Association International Com- petition in Nashville, Tennessee.
The final concert in the 2017 Concert at the Lodge series will be held Satur- day, Nov. 4, and will feature rock and blues legend Rick Derringer.

Macular Degeneration Vision Enhancement
Special Glasses May Help You Read Again.
O ces Throughout Southern California
California optometrist Dr. Richard Shuldiner is using miniaturized telescopes which are mounted in glasses to help people who have lost vision from macular degeneration and other eye conditions.
“Some of my patients consider me the last chance for people who have vision loss” said Dr. Shuldiner, “most people don’t know that there are low vision optometrists who have extensive experience in helping those with vision loss.We help people with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, RP and other eye diseases regain function and independence.”
Imagine a pair of glasses that can improve your vision enough to change
your life. Low Vision glasses may allow you to read, watch television, see sporting events, and even drive.
While there is currently no cure, promising research is being done on many fronts. “My job is to gure out everything and anything possible to keep a person functioning” says
Dr. Shuldiner.
