My fi rst championship fi ght for Canyon Lake happened before I was on the City Council. In October 2013 I heard about an attempt to “develop” a hill in

Canyon Lake. Something sounded o so I attended meetings and asked questions, called the Pardee developers and the California State Mining Board for
facts, and quickly learned that the claims of a shopping center and sales tax revenue were false. It turned out there was no commercial area being developed,
we would never see any sales tax revenue and their only true intent was to strip-mine that hill and then abandon it.

I was an average citizen but I felt I had to step up and take the lead and I did not wait for an opening on the City Council to start attending meetings and
raising my voice. The vote to proceed with the project was less than a month away; with no time to lose I worked hard to spread the facts, not for political
position but because it was clear that a small destructive group (some of whom are still targeting the City) had pulled out all stops to deceive the people of
                Canyon Lake.

 Result: The deception was exposed and that group’s destructive eff orts were defeated. Canyon Lake and its citizens won that fi ght.

passing cannabis legislation per the peoples’ wishes and in protecting Canyon Lake’s
interests in the lands surrounding our beautiful community.

 Results: I have mended shattered relationships with surrounding civic leaders
to promote the interests of Canyon Lake’s citizens; I made certain Canyon Lake
has a seat on an important commission developed to address the serious commuter
problems on our thoroughfares and freeways; and I continue to monitor special
interest groups who threaten our way of life.

all possible conclusions related to our future.

 Result: In the last four years there have been not one, but two public presentations by the Riverside

our citizens abreast of any possible Plan B for Canyon Lake’s future.

 Result: Public budget workshops are held prior to budget approval and the budget is publicly addressed
                                                           throughout the year.

 Result: The fate of Canyon Lake will never be solely in the hands of the City Council. It is in the hands
of YOU, the citizens, now and always will be.

Championing this City started long before I was on City Council. I fi ght hard to protect our way of life, with
a watchful eye on detrimental and/or improper land use, incursion of unwanted commercial enterprises and
the safety of our citizens on all fronts, from code enforcement to life services. I will make every eff ort to retain
our City status, if that continues to be the peoples’ choice. I work for YOU, the citizens of Canyon Lake and
NOT just for a small group of special interests. It is my duty and I take that very seriously.

 Result: If someday the majority of Canyon Lake citizens decide that the City should no longer be defended,
I will work with our citizens to secure the best possible solution no matter what our address becomes.

There is real work to be done and while “new ideas” will always be welcome, our problems must be solved
through hard work, experience and a knowledge of the operations of City government; specifi cally the
unique issues faced by Canyon Lakers.
I have been honored to serve on the City Council since 2014 and as Mayor in 2018. I look forward
to continuing to serve and ask you to cast YOUR vote for me on November 6, 2018.
