Drop off unwanted eyeglasses and hearing aids this Saturday
As part of a statewide effort to help those with vision problems, the Canyon Lake Lions Club is collecting unused eyeglass this Saturday, March 18.
The Club will have a collection table set up in front of Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hearing aids and cell phones are also being collected.
“Your old glasses can make a differ- ence to those in need, both young and old,” says a spokesperson for the club.”
If residents can not make it to the drop off location on March 18, the club asks that residents place them in the donation boxes located at the County Club or at
Pack, Wrap and Post.
The collected eyeglasses will be de-
livered to the regional Lions eyeglass re- cycling centers where volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and pack- age the glasses. The recycled glasses are then distributed to people in need in de- veloping countries where they will have the greatest impact.
Last year, Canyon Lake residents do- nated 681 pairs of eyeglasses. More than 100,400 pairs were collected throughout California.
