Save that Sunday morning appetite for the ever- popular Lions Club Pancake Breakfast this Sunday, September 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holiday Harbor. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and tea for a $6 donation per person. Bloody Marys and Mimosas also will be for sale.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any Lion, or by calling Lion Bob Hurst at 951-233-0355. Bob says, “Bring the family and come enjoy a great breakfast while helping the Lions to continue their philanthropic efforts.”
Cub Scout Troop 346 will be assisting the Lions in their White Cane Project as well as helping with the breakfast. The Lioness Club members will be helping their sponsoring Lions Club by serving coffee, orange juice and all the items necessary for the breakfast.
Lions support the Lions Clubs International Foun- dation, whose chief mission is to allocate funds and resources to solve major humanitarian challenges worldwide. Currently, Lions clubs all over the world, including Canyon Lake, are making donations to Lions Clubs International to help the victims of natural disas- ters around the world.
Oktoberfest to be on first Saturday of October
As the days get shorter and cooler and closer to October, many people’s thoughts turn to beer and brats – also known as Oktoberfest! This year’s event, sponsored by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, will be held in the upper level of the Towne Center on Saturday, October 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. It once again will feature the American Bavarian Brass Band.
The Sport Stop Pub & Grill will be selling bratwurst, hot dogs, turkey legs, German potato salad, coleslaw, maca- roni and cheese and cupcakes. The Cup Above will be selling Chinese chicken
dance salad and cookies. Beer, soda and water also will be for sale.
The evening’s entertainment will in- clude games and contests for the adults, a bounce house and games for children, and shopping at vendor booths. Contact the Chamber office for booth informa- tion . They are $20 for members; $25 for non-members.
Chamber Mixer and Luncheon
In other Chamber News, the Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club is hosting the September Mixer at Pepe’s Restau- rant on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:30 p.m.
The next Chamber Luncheon will be on Wednesday, October 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Pepe’s. It will feature guest speaker Jack Kantola, a Toastmaster of more than 40 years who has achieved the rank of Dis- tinguished Toastmaster and is a Qualified Speaker for the Inland Empire Speakers Bureau. Jack will be speaking about “Exit Strategies.” Cost of lunch is $14.
