A-6 THE FRIDAY FLYER AUGUST 21, 2015 Taco Tuesday families talk about vacations
Although recent temperatures have been in the 100s, the fact that school is backinsessionmakesitfeelasifsummer is winding down – at least at Taco Tues- day where this week’s crowd was quite low compared with previous weeks.
In keeping with the past few weeks, The Friday Flyer took pictures and asked a few attendees a “question of the week.” This week, reporter/photog- rapher Donna Kupke enjoyed talking to the subjects of her photos so much, she didn’t interview as many people as planned. The question she asked was a fun one: “Where did you go on vacation this summer?”
The Berrys – dad Rich, mom Tami, daughter Hailey, and twin sons Chase and Luke – were busy this summer with visits to Disneyland and Palm Springs as well as family time at their Blythe “river house.”
Wendy and Paul Gallagher enjoyed their vacation to the island of Ohau, Ha-
waii. But they say the highlight of their summer was going to Boulder, Colo- rado, where Wendy competed in her second Ironman Triathlon involving a 2.5-mile swim, followed by a 100-mile bicycle ride, followed by a 26-mile run – all in one day!
Victoria and David Guthery’s favor- ite vacation spot is their “river house” at Golden Shores, Arizona. Dave says they went with their grandkids, kids, nieces and nephews. His dad Dick says he didn’t mind not going the river house since he was on vacation in Italy.
Emerson Smith thinks she had the best vacation of all. When asked where she went this summer, she replied, “Here!” Emy lives with her family in Laguna Ni- guel and her mom explained they were renting a vacation home in Canyon Lake with three other families.
The final Taco Tuesday is Septem- ber 1, with Maui Monday scheduled for September 7 of Labor Day weekend.
