The Canyon Lake Golf Course is get- ting a facelift. Tractors have been re- moving dead grass from the 17.8 acres of perimeter areas that are scheduled to be replanted with low water-use plants and drought-tolerant landscaping, and most of the trees that were scheduled for removal have been removed.
On holes 6, 7, 8 and 9 (south of Railroad Canyon Rd., next to the Fair- way Estates) the irrigation has already been converted to supply less water in the low water-use areas. This same process is scheduled for all the other holes as contractors move toward the clubhouse. Bruce says the project is on schedule except for a minor glitch this week when the contractor’s hydro-seeding machine broke down. Hydro-seeding was expected to resume this week or next. The hydro-seed con- sists of a mixture of 14 flower-producing grasses and ground-cover plants.
