Dorothy June Pentz

Dorothy June Pentz, 95, of Menifee, CA, passed away in Vista on Dec. 11, 2018. Dorothy was born on July 15, 1923, in Marne, NE, to Wilbur Starr Snodgrass and Grace Dorothy Banks Snodgrass.

In 1945, Dorothy was married to her best friend, Bob Pentz, for 66 years. She attended Atlantic High School, Iowa State University, University of Nebraska, University of Colorado Boulder and University of Redlands.

A lifelong student, Dorothy was an honors student and received her master’s degree in her 60s. Dorothy worked as a laboratory technician most of her career in MI and CA where she retired at age 55 from CRC in Norco. Dorothy was also an entrepreneur, starting several businesses including A1 Building Materials and B&D Mini Storage in Riverside, and Alessandro Mini Storage in Moreno Valley. She developed several properties including the Norco Country Mall and participated in home rehabs before it was popular.

Dorothy was a long time member of Canyon Lake Community Church. She is survived by her daughters Kathie Palmer (Richard), Barbara McConaghy (Dennis) and Robin Buss (Marty) and her son Dale Pentz (Jackie). Dorothy is also survived by grandchildren Shanna Marshall (John), Tamara Brown (Matt), Meghan Chane (Chris), Rick McConaghy, Michael McConaghy, Erin McConaghy, Amanda Bong (Dean), Taylor and Bryce Pentz, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She is predeceased in death by her husband Bob, grandson Ryan Hall and granddaughter Aubrey Young, as well as her two brothers George and Alan Snodgrass and nephews Tom and Cliff Snodgrass.

Dorothy will always be remembered for her love of family, steady and wise advice, generous spirit and deep love for her savior Jesus Christ.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday Jan. 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. at at Sandals Church, Palm Avenue Campus, 6807 Palm Ave., Riverside, CA 92506.
