Fine Arts Guild announces 2019 concert schedule

Over the past three years, the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild presented tribute artists for Willie Nelson, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Santana and The Beatles, to name a few. The Guild recently announced its 2019 concert lineup, which includes four tribute concerts at the lodge and two free summer tribute concerts at the new amphitheater at Holiday Harbor Park.

The concert schedule is as follows:

March 16: Garth Brooks

May 17: Frank Sinatra

September 7: Doobie Brothers

October 19: Neil Diamond

Ticket prices will remain the same for next year’s concerts; $25 General Admission and $45 VIP Reserved Seating. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the POA office and at the Fine Arts Guild website at canyonlakeguild.com.

The Fine Arts Guild is hosting a free Jimny Buffett tribute concert for the community on June 29 and a Rolling Stones tribute concert on Aug. 10. Both concerts will be held at Holiday Harbor Park.

The 2019 concert season kicks off March 16 with Shawn Gerhard as country superstar Garth Brooks. Shawn and his rollicking band will be flown out to Canyon Lake from Nashville, Tennessee, for this performance. Following this concert will be Matt Mauser as the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra, Friday May 17. With a live 12-piece orchestra on the stage, the show promises to be like Old Blue Eyes with his Count Basie Band at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas.

On Sept. 7, “Listen to the Music” will bring the chart-busting hits of “The Doobie Brothers” to the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Playing “China Grove,” “Long Train Running,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway” and so many more, the evening is expected to be lively and fun. The season will end with the return of Jay White as “Neil Diamond.” Suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Neil Diamond just announced his retirement. As Jay is his favorite tribute performer, Neil stated, “Thank you Jay for doing this so I can stay home.”

The Fine Arts Guild will kick off the summer on June 29 at the new amphitheater at Holiday Harbor Park with some TropRock (Tropical Rock) from Jimmy Buffett tribute performers The Coast Riders and wind down the summer on Aug. 10 with the return of “Jumping Jack Flash” as “The Rolling Stones.” Those who attended the Beatles vs Stones concert a few years back should remember this electrifying group, especially the charismatic Joey Infante as Mick Jagger. The Fine Art Guild offers these two free concerts as a way of giving back to the community.

Operating under their mission of “providing enjoyable music to the community and complementary programs that promote quality entertainment,” the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild will once again be offering memberships, which doubled over the last two years. Memberships include preferred seating; discount pricing and pre-concert social events that include food, beer, wine, soft drinks and music.

Social Director Bonnie Dubbs says, “We make every effort to treat our guests well and make this a fun and memorable evening.” “We try to listen to what our community wants to hear and deliver quality music for a fair price. For those that ask, the best way to donate to the Fine Arts Guild is to join as a member or just attend one of our concerts” said President Ron Martel.
