The 7th annual Oktoberfest returns to the Canyon Lake Towne Center Saturday, Sept. 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. This popular community event, hosted by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, combines local food and beer with German traditions to make it unique.

This year’s Oktoberfest will feature traditional German food, live music, beer and wine garden, the American Bavarian Brass Band, a kids zone, carnival games, vendors and contests. Chef Anton, the winner of the television show Steve Harvey’s Funderdome, will be at Oktoberfest with his 33-in-1 Bean Bagglz Tossing Game that’s fun for all ages. The chamber will be raffling off a Been Bagglz game; raffle tickets are $5.

This popular community event draws a crowd of several hundreds. Although not required, traditional Bavarian costumes (ledhosens and dirndls) are encouraged.

Wristband and ID are required for alcoholic purchases. Commemorative Oktoberfest plastic steins will be available for $5 each.

Oktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without the contests. This year’s contests are Beer Drinking (non-alcoholic), Stein Holding, Hot Dog Eating, Jalapeno Eating and Yodeling.

Sponsors of the 7th annual Oktoberfest include the Sports Stop Pub & Grill, Platinum Plumbing, CR&R, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties, Canyon Mattress and More, Southern California Edison, EXIT Blue Water Realty and Jordan and Jennie Ehrenkranz.

Sponsorship and non-food vendors booths are still available. Vendor booths are $25 per space. For more information, contact Alison Burrafato at the chamber office at 951-244-6124 or canyonlakechamber@outlook.com.
