Joanna became a full-time resident of Canyon Lake in1988. She’s been a member of the Canyon Lake Lioness Club for 27 years. She served several positions on the club’s Board, including president for three terms and treasurer for the last 10 years. She joined the Lion’s Club in 2004 and has been serving as club’s treasurer for the last eight years. Joanna has been a member of the Fiesta Day Committee for 15 years. She’s been serving as the committee’s chairperson and treasurer since 2006. She served as the chairperson of the POA Election Committee from 1991-1994, and is a former president of both the Woman’s Club and the Women’s Golf Club.
Several years ago Joanna discovered Edison was charging many homes in Canyon Lake the wrong rates. After she made a presentation of facts and figures, over 600 homes received corrected rates and refunds from Edison.
In addition to her volunteer work in Canyon Lake, Joanna is involved with “Honor Flight,” an organization that escorts veterans on trips to Washington D.C. She escorted a Navy vet in October. This active volunteer was named Canyon Lake’s “Volunteer of the Year” in 2003 and “Citizen of the Year” in 2014.
