Cub Scouts clean up trash in North Ski Area

Cub Scout Pack 346 has been busy again this month. On February 6, the scouts headed to the BLM trails behind the Canyon Lake fire station for a day of hiking, enjoying nature and cleaning up the shoreline of the North Ski Area.

Several large bags of trash were collected by the scouts, leaders, parents and siblings. Not only did the scouts clean up the shore, they also completed hiking and community service activities.

The Cub Scouts who volunteered on this clean-up hike included Ward Hansford, Zane Zander, Zackary Zander, Luke Remley, Wyatt Sidwell, Baron Sidwell and Logan Caglia.

After they finished cleaning up the trash, which included a large amount of broken glass (handled by the adults), Ward Hansford (Webelos II), along with Zachary and Zane Zander ( Webelos II), concluded the afternoon with a three-mile hike to earn their Walk About Adventure Loop badges.

Spokesperson Susan Gamble would like to recognize the dedication and respect the boys and their families have for their community. Pack 346 is for boys in grades 1 through 5 in Canyon Lake, Canyon Hills and Tuscany Hills.
