Library’s Summer Reading Program begins Monday

The annual Canyon Lake Library Summer Reading Program begins on June 22 and includes prizes for kids, teens and adults who participate. “Reading to the Rhythm” is this summer’s theme and, in addition to weekly prizes from local businesses such as Kohl’s, the Extra Reading Grand Prize will be an Alvarez RD8 six-string guitar! The program is for ages 0 to adult.

To kick off the program on Monday, a jumper from the Drop Zone will be at the Library at noon to visit and tell stories, and Petals the Clown will be making balloon sculptures for guests from 3 to 5 p.m. Of course, Miss Shirley Toddler Story Time will begin at 11 a.m. as usual.

To sign up for the Summer Reading Program, stop by the Library during normal business hours. The Summer Reading Program runs from June 22 to August 1.

Here’s what’s up through the end of June: The Canyon Lake Knitters will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24. On Monday, June 28, Toddler Story Time begins at 11 a.m., and Gale Bjelland will be back with her family art program from 3 to 4 p.m.
