Pool set to reopen under sunny skies

Get out the sunscreen and beach towels! With temperatures predicted to be in the high 80s, low 90s next week, the Lodge Pool is reopening none too soon on Monday, March 16. Hours for open swimming will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Lap swimmers are invited to exercise from 7 to 10 a.m.

Water Aerobics classes also will begin Monday and will be held Monday through Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $2 per class or $25 for a monthly, unlimited card, available for purchase at the pool office.

Along with a Junior Olympic-size pool, the facility includes a kiddie pool, restrooms and outdoor showers. There is a pool attendant but no lifeguard on duty.

It is necessary to show a POA card when entering the pool gate, or be in the company of someone with a POA card. Members must accompany and stay with their guests. A maximum of six guests are allowed per property.

A Pool Pass is available to members requesting it for one adult non-member who is responsible for the minor children of the member. Persons under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. Unaccompanied persons 14 to 17 must have their own POA card and are allowed to bring one guest into the pool area.

All babies, toddlers and incontinent adults must wear proper waterproof swim pants or briefs in the pool. The swim pants or briefs cannot disintegrate in the pool and must have waterproof containment to ensure leak-proof protection. On holidays and busy weekends the pool staff initiates periodic potty breaks.

Additional rules are posted at the pool and on the CLPOA website at canyonlakepoa.com. For more information, call Pool Administrator Val Grillo at 244-6841, ext. 618.
