Justin Silva is January Student of the Month

Justin Silva, standing fourth from right, was named Temescal Canyon High School Student of the Month in January. Justin, who this week was named Canyon Lake’s Student of the Year, plans to attend UCSB with the goal of earning a BA in history, and eventually studying law. Justin’s proud mom is Melissa Silva.

Justin currently is a member of NHS, CSF and ASB. In his senior year, he discovered hidden talents and appreciation for teaching while tutoring at the Lake Elsinore Boys and Girls Clubs. He has earned the bulk of his community service volunteer hours this year by tutoring as often as he can. Justin says volunteer tutoring has opened his understanding of the work teachers put in, and the challenges of daily instruction.

He also enjoys team competition as a member of the Titan Boys Water Polo team.

Other students honored as Student of the Month in January were Princess Tarabishi (EHS) Arielle Lowe (LHS), Tiara Hawkins (TCHS), Angelica Luevano (KMA), Joseph Hernandez( EHS) and Douglas Thompson (LHS).

Pictured with the students are Canyon Lake Mayor Jordan Ehrenkrantz, SOM founder Sally Myers, Lake Elsinore Mayor Steve Manos, LEUSD Asst. Superintendent Dr. Alain Guevara, Lake Elsinore Councilwoman Natasha Johnson and Kim Joseph Cousins, CEO Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce.
