Fashion Show
The Elks Ladies of Lake Elsinore/ Wildomar Elks Lodge No. 2591 will host their annual Fashion Show on Sept. 9 at the Elks Lodge, 33700 Mis- sion Trail, Wildomar. Social hour starts at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and Fash- ion Show at 12 p.m. The “Celebrate Fall” themed Fashion Show is open to the public. Tickets are $20 and includes lunch and dessert. Kickball Tournament
The City of Lake Elsinore is hosting a Kickball Challenge Tournament on Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rosetta Canyon Sports Partk, 39423 Ardenwood Way. This is a free event for all ages and all stages. Awards will be given for the best dressed team. Kickballs will be provided. Comfortable clothes and sun- screen is recommended. Free Sprinkler Nozzles
Elsinore Valley Water District is part- nering with Western Municipal Water District to offer up to 25 free Toro Pre- cision sprinkler nozzles to its custom- ers. The Toro nozzles are more efficient than regular pop-up spray nozzles and can help customers save both water and money. Supplies are limited.

Quarter Bus Rides
Through Sept. 4, students in first through 12th grades can ride the River- side Transit Agency (RTA) for a quarter. While a school ID is the preferred meth- od of getting a quarter ride, bus driv- ers also accept RTA Youth ID cards, or California driver’s licenses or state IDs showing the rider is under the age of 19.
Titans Football
The Titans invite Canyon Lakers to support the Temescal Canyon High School Football Program by attending their game on Sept. 2 against San Jacin- to High School at 500 Idyllwild Drive, San Jacinto. The cost is $7; parking is $5. Game starts at 7 p.m.; gates open at 6 p.m.
On Sept. 7, junior varsity will go up against Arlington High School at 2951
Jackson Street, Riverside, with a 4 p.m. start time. The cost is $5. Also on Sept. 7, freshmen will go up against Arling- ton High School at Temescal Canyon High School, 28755 El Toro Rd, Lake Elsinore, with a 4 p.m. start time. No charge for entry.
Mark your calendars for the Home- coming Game on Oct. 20. This year’s theme is Wizard of OZ. The Titans play against Lakeside.

Menifee Historical Museum
The Menifee Valley Historical Mu- seum contains displays about Canyon Lake history, provided by Canyon Lake pioneers Don and Elinor Martin who sometimes serve as docents. The muse- um, located in the old Menifee Elemen- tary School on Garbani Rd. in Menifee, is open Sundays, from 1 to 4 p.m.
AFV Fundraiser
AFV will host its 13th annual Wines for Canines and Kitties on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at South Coast Winery, 34843 Rancho California Rd., Temecula. This event will feature The Voice contestant Anatalia Villaranda, a Fashion Show featuring shelter dogs, sit down dinner, live auction and live mu- sic. Walk of Hope
On Sept. 24, Michelle’s Place will host its inaugural Walk of Hope at Vail Headquarters in Temecula. This event includes live music, food and awards. Registration for breast cancer survivors is $15. Registration for ages 13 and older is $30; $40 the day of the event. Child registration for ages four to 12 is

Checkpoint on RRC Rd. nets two arrests
Lake Elsinore Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Aug. 25 at Rail- road Canyon Rd. at Church Rd. be- tween the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The results are as follows: • 1213 vehicles screened.
• 58 vehicles sent to secondary
screening.
• 6 field sobriety tests conducted.
• 2 DUI-alcohol suspects arrested.
• 21 drivers cited/arrested for op- erating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked.
• 8 citations additional issued. Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest
safety for officers and the public.
The Riverside Sheriff’s Depart- ment encourages drivers to download
the California Office of Traffic Safety DDVIP (Designated Driver VIP) free mobile app for Android or iPhone. The DDVIP app helps find nearby bars and restaurants that feature free incentives for the designated sober driver, from free non-alcoholic drinks to free ap- petizers and more. The feature-packed app has social media tie-ins and even a tab for the non-designated driver to call Uber, Lyft or Curb.
