Reserve spot at Resident Appreciation Golf Day
The reservation deadline for Resi- dent Appreciation Golf Day at the Golf Course and Country Club is tomor- row, October 15. The inaugural event is scheduled for next Saturday, October 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is free and designed for residents who don’t al- ready have a golf membership. Attend- ees will be able to meet other residents and staff, partake in fun activities and
enjoy a complimentary barbecue. Other activities include games, raffle to win a golf lesson with a pro, free use of range balls and golf clubs, family photos on the green and a guided tour of the Golf Course. Walking and golf cart
tours will be available.
The complimentary barbecue will in-
clude hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bar- becued chicken sandwiches, chips and a
drink. The Country Club will be offer- ing a special “Club-Bunker” cocktail for $5.25
During the barbecue, volunteers from each golf club, including Junior Golf, will be on hand to answer question.
Kathy Sanchez, the publicity chair for 9ers Golf Club, says, “We’ve all worked very hard and are hoping to get record participation from the community since
this is the first event of its kind. Our Golf Course is one of the most pristine courses in the Temecula Valley, and it’s right in our backyard. If you have never had the opportunity to see this beautiful amenity, come out for a stroll or ride – you will be amazed. “

Join Birthday Club for free entree at restaurants
The Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association invites residents to sign up for the new Birthday Club. Members who sign up for the Birthday Club mail- ing list will receive a free entree (no minimum or maximum), compliments of the Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar or the Canyon Lake Country Club.
Members may redeem 14 days prior to their birthday. Those who sign up will be the first to hear about exclusive Canyon Lake news, upcoming events and the new- est food and drink specials through the As- sociation’s weekly email newsletter.
Members can sign up for the Birthday Club by visiting the CLPOA website at www.canyonlakepoa.com. Members also can sign up by asking their server at the Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar or Country Club or by visiting the Member Services office.
Long Range Survey
Only one day is left to fill out the sur- vey on the Long Range Plan. The sur- vey is available at www.canyonlakepoa. com and in paper form in the Member Services Office asking homeowners to vote for the top five enhancements they would like to see on a Long Range Plan (one survey per tract and lot).
Lighthouse Halloween
The Lighthouse Haunted Halloween
Party will take place inside the Light- house Bar on Saturday, October 29, from 9 p.m. until closing. This 21-and-over event will feature a bar menu, a cos- tume contest with a prize for everyone in attendance, free giveaways, and other frills and thrills. The “Bad Dancers” will
be performing. Valid ID and POA card required at the door.
Football Season at Lodge
Football food and drink specials are offered during any televised NFL game at the Lodge. This includes Monday
and Thursday night football, and regu- lar Sunday football games after Sun- day brunch. Specials include $3 Domes- tic Drafts, $2 Jim Beam fire shots, $1 buffalo or barbecue wings (individual,

Visit Mission Inn Festival of Lights
The Canyon Lake Senior Work Group has arranged a trip for seniors (50 years and older) to enjoy the Festival of Lights, held every Christmas season at the Mission Inn in Riverside. This internationally recognized event has been rated by USA Today’s 10Best.com as the “Number 1 Best Public Lights Display” and by People Magazine as the second best Christmas light show in the United States.
Organizers say, “The Festival of Lights has to be seen to be believed. In fact, it should be on everyone’s bucket list. Many Christmas-related activities and street vendors

On December 8, at 4 p.m., a coach will depart the Lodge for a five-hour round trip to the Festival of Lights. The cost is $25 per person. Dinner at any of the nearby restaurants is on one’s own. Reservations can be obtained at CLPOA Member Services. Only checks made out to the Canyon Lake Senior Work Group will be accepted.
