The Association closed the new playground at Steelhead Park soon after receiving complaints that some of the wood chips in the base had sharp points.
New Steelhead playground opens, then closes
There is a beautiful new playground at Steelhead Park, which opened early last week. The aging playground struc- tures were replaced with new swings and a new structure that has multiple slides and climbers. There also is a “Ten Spin,” a reinvention of the traditional merry-go-round built to accommodate up to 10 children at a time.
Unfortunately, soon after it opened, parents reported that some of the wood chips in the base had points sharp enough to penetrate their flip-flops and other shoes. This week the Association closed the playground to consult with the playground vendor about the base.
Board Packets Due Today
Members interested in running for the CLPOA Board of Directors can pick up an Intent to Run packet at Member Services. Packets must be completed and returned to Clerk of the Board Lynn Jensen by today, February 19, at 3 p.m.
Two of the five seats on the Board are up for election on May 12. The two-year terms of Douglas Gordon and David Ei- lers will expire in May.

State of the Association
The Association’s inaugural “State of the Association” event is being held at the Lodge today, February 19, at noon. The Board of Directors and Gen- eral Manager will address 2015 achieve- ments and project plans moving into 2016. This is an event for the member- ship (prime and associate members).
