Town Center’s Urban Craft Eatery closes

Wayne Wuintos, Urban Craft Eatery Owner And Chef

The popular and quaint Urban Craft Eatery closed its doors last week after a five-year stint at the Canyon Lake Town Center location. Owner and chef Wayne Quintos said on the restaurant’s Instagram account that the site’s landlord had opted to not renew the lease.

The restaurant that specialized in comfort food and craft beers had navigated the pandemic with success and Wayne mentioned on social media posts that the eatery was “definitely going out on a high note.”

Wayne said that what he had set out to accomplish during his five years in business was fulfilled.

“All good things must come to an end,” he said.”We have accomplished what we have set out to do here. We’ve made friends, long-lasting relationships, we’ve served the best-rated food in the area with the best service standards and we’ve been recognized by local and national platforms. And we’ve done it by being unapologetically us and have had a lot of fun doing it.”

The restaurant defined itself as a custom craft eatery serving creative custom dishes for the community. Its focus, it said on its website, was to provide good quality meals with fresh ingredients. The Urban Craft Eatery was known for its craft beer which came exclusively from local breweries from Lake Elsinore to San Diego. Its wine came from nearby Temecula Wine Country.

“For the past five years, we never felt more a part of the community,” Wayne said. “Being part of all the birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, retirement parties and date nights was great. We will miss all of you. We will never forget how you supported us through the pandemic and made sure your local favorite was here to stay.”

Wayne said he was grateful for not just his loyal customers, but also for the employees who have worked there over the years.

Owner Wayne Quintos announced the restaurant had lost its lease and was forced to close on Dec. 30. Photo from Urban Craft Eatery Instagram.

“We’ve had a great run and we’re definitely going out on a high note,” he said. “People continuously outdid themselves with the gracious reviews they would leave us. Thank you to our employees for your dedication, loyalty and hard work. You are what has taken the Urban this far.

“But it’s time to head out to uncharted territory and do what we did here,” Wayne said. “We Came, We Saw, We Conquered.”
